Shake heavy whipping cream until you see it solidify. Drain the excess liquid (buttermilk) and plunge the solid butter into an ice bath (a bowl of ice and water). Squeeze out more liquid, put it into an empty bowl, season it with salt and whatever spices sound good to you, and mix it completely.
